I suppose I'll start with the facts: I was raised in Coalville, Utah on a small family farm. I have two brothers and one sister. I attended Westminster College in Salt Lake City where I received a degree in Neuroscience, took three years working in a Nephrology lab to figure out what to do with my life, then received my medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine.
But a little more about me... My top three books, in no particular order, are: East of Eden, Weaveworld and Dangerous Angels, and my favorite movie is The Crow. I can't imagine a life without music; my tastes range from 90's hip-hop to Daft Punk to Queen and most everything in-between. These are all influenced by my various family members, but my all-time favorite album is August and Everything After by Counting Crows. I love to travel, having been to 10 countries in all so far. I bake for stress relief (so expect a lot of goodies these next few years) and my favorite smell is laundry soap.
I pursued medicine, and Family Medicine in particular, because of a combination of my upbringing, my love of science and learning/education as well as fostering and enjoying many different types of relationships over the years. I'm so stoked to be a VCMC so I can learn full-spectrum medicine and take these skills back to an as-yet-unidentified small community.
