Alumni Outcomes

We're proud of the work our graduates do.  Whether they stay in Ventura County or land across the globe; whether an office-based practice or pushing the limits of the scope of Family Medicine, you'll find Ventura graduates just about anywhere.  Here are some details.

High-Need Practice Settings

Half of our alumni work in a FQHC, rural health clinic, IHS site or other government clinic, vs a national average of only 24%

Hospital Medicine

72% practice adult inpatient medicine, and 45% practice intensive care.  Residency prepared them for procedures at remarkably high rates: LP, 100%; Intubation, 96%; Vent Management, 93%; Central Line, 100%; Thoracentesis, 100%;

Pediatrics Care

84% provide outpatient pediatric care, 56% provide newborn care in the hospital, and 47% provide other pediatric hospital care.  92% felt prepared for circumcisions

Maternity Care

100% of our grads say they were prepared for maternity care, and 65% continue to practice.  55% are currently delivering babies.

Emergency Medicine

20% of grads continue to see patients in an emergency department, and another 20% do urgent care. 

Job Satisfaction

Alumi say they are "Very Satisfied" with their location, employer, income and overall job at rates exceeding the national average.  75% are "Very Satisfied" with their residency training, compared to a national average 57%
